Let's just say I didn't start here.
I am originally from Eastern Europe, and during my young years I saw women cooking daily and for hours on end, to prepare a meal that was simply expected of them, and often taken without a word of appreciation.
That put me on a fantasy-journey towards a meal-in-a-pill, and loud proclamations that if it takes longer to prepare than to eat it, it is not worth the time. When I became in charge of my meals, I was living on sandwiches, apples, premade meals, sliced cheese straight from the bag , and beans straight from a can.
Fast-forward several years, and I found myself dating this amazing man (now my husband), who said: "cooking is like a chemistry experiment that you can eat".
Whoooaaa, that made my brain-gears spin for a while!!! :)
I got curious.
I discovered simple ingredients.
I discovered spices I barely knew existed.
I discovered other cuisines, and life just erupted
with flavor
and aroma
and zest.
It was years-long journey filled with bumps, experimentation and comical kitchen failures, but also filled with fun, ever-growing curiosity, career change, massive shifts in beliefs, and powerful realization that we deserve to take care of ourselves.
