November Thanksgiving Gratitude

Beautiful orange flowers to show Thanksgiving season gratitude

- "What's stuffing?" I remember asking when my (now) husband and I were planning our very first Thanksgiving. I am from Europe, and so for years he was the one putting the entire meal together, as I was learning ins and outs of this truly American Holiday. Of course novelty was t a big factor: sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce  and yes, stuffing made for nice culinary discoveries.
But beyond edible (and delicious) factors, I very quickly I started realizing that it can be a beautiful and deep Holiday if we don't get distracted by well, stuffing and cranberry sauce along the way.
It can be about family and connections.
It can be about focusing on being thankful for our health, home, loved ones, job...
being thankful for what's good in our lives.
And it can be a complex, cooked-over-days meal prepared with lots of love, patience and attention as well as intention to share it with close ones.
This is big.
In this daily life of rush, frenzy, eating-on-the-go; in this time of word unrest, confusion, greed, racism, war, climate changes and just overall unpredictability - this is big.

Let's take a moment to be grateful and to be thankful.

I also find is really appealing that Thanksgiving is a National Holiday.
Think about it - there is a National 'agreement' and 'permission' to give citizens a day off to focus on practicing gratitude, surrounded by loved ones over a table full of not-every-day dishes.
How amazing is that!!!

So, in spirit of Thanksgiving, let's keep these ideas dear.
Share this day with people that are close to you.
Tell them how much you appreciate them in your life.
Share the gift of time - the most valuable thing you have.

And above all share and enjoy this day with gratitude.

 Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :) :) :)
